The QDC offers a range of benefits to its members. A complete Health and Welfare Plan that can be extended to include all family members. When a member signs a Guild contract, the producer contributes to the member’s health and welfare plan, to the Retirement Plan and pays a certain percentage of the salary as Vacation Pay. The member is assured of optimal working conditions that a producer must provide when signing an Adherence Agreement to the Guild Basic Agreement. The QDC also works to promote its members to producers by offering an availability list and updated CVs of its members. The Guild lobbies governments and institutions with the aim of consolidating the development of the Canadian film and television industry.
